Introduction

During the weekdays, I talk mostly on blogs and websites. Today is Saturday, let's talk about something different.  How about talking a bit about healthy eating recipes. Most people want to eat healthily. It may be a New Year's resolution. Some want to reduce weight. Some start healthy eating upon the doctor's advice. In short, Today's people are more knowledgeable about eating healthy. More people begin eating with a balanced choice of protein, vegetables, and fruits.



Vegetables

Vegetables such as spring mix, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, radish, spinach, romaine, green, red, yellow, and orange peppers, carrots, red and white onions are very rich in phytonutrients, such as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals. These beautiful phytonutrients also have good flavors and scents on top of their attractive colors. They are excellent healthy eating recipes with great benefits for your body.


Just a friendly reminder for those who eat fresh vegetables, wash and clean them thoroughly at least a couple of times. When you take vegetarian salads, use plain vinegar and the olive oil only. Tasty dressings such as French, Italian, Greek, Sesame Thai, Balsamic, and Caesar dressings are not healthy for the body. They contain too many calories in the first place; they may also contain preservatives, food dyes, additives that are harmful to your health.


Fruits

Apples, orange, mandarin, pineapples, strawberries, cherries, blueberries are rich in phytonutrients. They are excellent sources of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. If you want your body to feel good and healthy, start eating healthy recipes with more fruits starting from Today.

Remember to clean and peel the skin of the fruits before you eat them. They may contain wax, insecticides, and other toxic chemicals to your body.



Raw Vegetables vs. Cooked Vegetables

Raw vegetables have far more nutrients and vitamins than cooked vegetables. It is the cooking process that destroys some of the nutrients. The most essential nutrients being destroyed by cooking are enzymes. They are necessary for people's vitality. That is why after eating healthy recipes with fresh vegetable salad, say your body would feel great for the week. You would feel fully charged with energy and your body energized.


Proteins

Proteins are bodybuilders. They are essential for the body's growth and mechanism. Sources of proteins are the lean meats of pork, beef, mutton, and chicken; white meats are better for the body's health. Too much red meat is no good. They may increase the blood urea level in your body and cause discomfort and pain, especially the big muscles and small joints. Fishes are the best sources of proteins. Healthy eating recipes also include plant proteins from beans, peas, eggs, sweet potatoes, milk, and other dairy products such as cheese and yogurt.

It is two years already since the covid19 pandemic started. During this period we stayed home no more eating in the restaurants which serve take-out only as the government does not allow dining in. People learned to cook by themselves making some simple and healthy recipes. For Julie and myself, I enjoy making our own food. I would post more videos about homemade recipes here in the coming Saturdays and Sundays, sharing you guys visiting my blog. These videos are about healthy eating recipes. Stay tuned.



My Recommendation

A Recipe for Balanced Choices of Veggies, Meat Proteins, and Plant Proteins.

Main Ingredients

Spring mix washes clean; repeat washing a couple of times to ensure clean. Then add the following:

* chick beans
* kidney beans
* cherry tomatoes
* black/green olives
* sliced cucumbers
* red/green peppers
* sliced radish
* broccolis
* cauliflowers
* sliced red onions
* shredded carrots
* sliced almonds
* sunflower seeds
* raisins
* shred cheddar cheese
grilled chicken (Julian)


Salad dressing :

* red wine vinegar

* olive oil

Mix all ingredients in a big bowl with the dressings. It is now ready to serve.
