Learning AI after 80—simple, practical, and real.

I’m David, a retired grandfather exploring AI step by step.

About

David & Julie at Markville Mall, 2026

Hello, and Welcome

Thank you for stopping by. I’m David Au — a lifelong learner, writer, blogger, and curious explorer of both the digital world and the human heart. This space is where I share reflections shaped by travel, technology, table tennis, aging, and the quiet wisdom that comes with time.

Writing, for me, has never been just about recording events. It’s about connection. Every post is an invitation to think, remember, question, and grow together.

🌱 Retirement: Not the End, but a New Beginning

I retired in 2011, and like many others, I asked myself a simple but unsettling question: “What now?”

The answer didn’t come from slowing down — it came from starting something new. I began blogging. What started as a personal outlet slowly became a daily habit, then a purpose. Each post opened a conversation with readers around the world and gave me a reason to keep learning.

Retirement, I’ve learned, isn’t about closing chapters. It’s about finally having the time to write them.

🧠 My Journey into AI and the Digital World

In recent years, curiosity led me into artificial intelligence and modern digital tools. What I discovered surprised me: AI isn’t cold or distant — when used thoughtfully, it can be empowering, especially for seniors.

AI has helped me polish my English, organize ideas, improve SEO, and focus more on creativity than mechanics. That experience inspired me to write about AI in a practical, human way — especially for retirees and lifelong learners who want to understand the world changing around them.

The internet isn’t just for the young. It’s a bridge — one that helps us stay engaged, informed, and connected.

👴 Grandpa Life: Where Heart Meets Wisdom

As much as I enjoy technology, I find equal joy in things that are timeless: family, memory, and human stories. As a grandfather, I’ve grown more reflective — more attentive to small moments and quiet truths.

Along the way, I’ve explored palmistry and physiognomy — not as superstition, but as storytelling. Our faces, hands, and bodies carry histories of effort, resilience, and love. To me, they are living archives.

This blog is where logic meets intuition, and modern tools meet ancient wisdom.
