Blogger Blog On The Go (2)

I put two samples here to show the user-friendly aspect of mobile blogging. People can use nowadays mobile blogs about their travel holidays or any activities. It is so easy and convenient.  Thanks to the technology that improves life quality.

I inserted this video here directly from my Youtube channel

RHTTC55.COM eMagazine

During the break, I did this mobile blogging in the afternoon at the Rouge Woods Community gym, playing ping pong. The gym has just been renovated and opened today for ping pong and pickleball drop-in programs among the adults 55+.  This gym can accommodate 16 table tennis.  I took a picture of the gym with my LG cellphone.  Now,  I share it with all readers via the Blogger smartphone app.   The Blogger app allows me to insert the picture and add the post title and content.  Within seconds the post is ready to be sent out.  It is indeed a very convenient blogging way.

Mobile blogging Step by Step
  • Take a picture with your smartphone or Select  that picture  from your Gallery
  • Click the share icon at the bottom
  • Click BLOGGER icon
  • Add post title, post content, label
  • Click the arrow icon to send out
  • it is done

Note

I am using LG X Power 3 smartphone & Blogger

Now we can do blogging with our smartphones while traveling.  It is so cool!

Blogger Blog On The Go (1)

Google has switched from desktop-first indexing to mobile-first indexing since July 1, 2019.  The trend has developed and become widely accepted.  I checked my Blogspot statistics on my blog traffic and found most of my traffic still comes from the desktop.  I have to put more effort into going forward and work in line with the trend.

Therefore, I installed yesterday the Blogger on the go for my smartphone.  I got the app from Google Play Store and installed the app.  It is effortless and straightforward.  After the installation, I checked back on the smartphone, and it is working surprisingly fast. Now everything is at your fingertips, simple, easy, and efficient.  It is cool.

There is no complaint, except the sidebar is gone and the advertisement is gone too, but it is neat, fast, and easy to read as the font size and click elements are user-friendly.  Navigation on the page is very satisfactory.  I like it.

With the Blogger on the go, it is more fun to blogging.  i.e., mobile blogging.  Do the blogging on travel anywhere as long as there is wifi. With the Blogger on the go app, I can share it to Facebook, Youtube,  Blogger, Linkedin, Quora, Whatsapp, Line, and other social media with a flip of the finger.  I can do a lot more with the Blogger on the go.  Just Do It On the Spot.  It is a lot of fun.  For example, I can blog while I am walking in the park. Take a picture or video, type in the post title and post description, then click Save. It is done.

With the Blogger app and a smartphone, we can attach photos or select pictures from the photo gallery. Sharing current locations on posts is also possible by tabbing the 'My Location' bar and adding areas. We can also share photos and links directly to Blogger.

Here to what I did mobile blogging the other day.

Step by Step with a smartphone
  • Take a picture with the smartphone or select an image from the smartphone Gallery.
  • Click the share icon at the bottom of the smartphone.
  • Click the BLOGGER icon of the smartphone add the post title, content
  • Click the arrow icon to send out.    It is done
At this point, I would like to bring you guys to the sixties. When people then were using mechanical typewriters, e.g., Underwood, Brother,  in the eighties, the IBM electrical typing machines,  the nineties the IBM personal computers, in the millennium the Apple desktop pc and now everything on the go: smartphones, i-pads, tablets.  Technologies swiftly move forward.

A Blogspot Blog Performance Review

Yesterday I checked into the Blogspot dashboard to ensure the following are in place; yes, they are correctly done.

  • at 'Setting' 'privacy' .. enabled visible to Search engines, allowing search engines to crawl on the blog
  • at  'Meta tags' added the blog title, added blog description up to 150 characters,
  • at 'Crawlers and indexing.'
  1. enabled custom robots.txt
  2. enabled custom robots.txt
  3. enabled custom robots header tags
  4. posted description add a short description
  5. search description filled in the search description, with keywords (150 characters)
  • at Google search console added URL to Google search console

I also checked into my Google Search Console and found the latest development of my blog.  Today is the 28th day of this blog. It is indexed already. It is now associated with Google Analytics.   I can see the details about the blog performance and the various posts.  Below are their screenshots.

                 Search console - site overview

Most popular posts

How do people find you?

In a relatively short time, this achievement is ok but not too happy with the readership.  I am pleased with the result of being indexed in 28 days. According to my dashboard statistics number of readers and pages viewed is too few.

  •  853  views (total 28 days)
  •  651  views (this month 24 days)
  •  172  views (last month 4 days)

My daily task is to write articles to enrich the blog's content.  I enjoy it.  There are more readers now as compared to the beginning week. It is a joyful experience though not too excited.  I practice keyword research for the post title and content to build organic traffic.  That is what I learn from the internet regarding SEO keywords.  Then I  planted these research keywords into the blog title, the post title, the article itself.  Over time, there would be more inbound traffic to my blog.  It is time-consuming. But I still find it a pleasurable task.  The question is, how can I do better?  Can I be as good as an SEO professional?  The answer is obviously no.

While I am writing this content, the number of people reading my posts is few compared to the contemporary competition.  My competition also spends hours writing similar content, but they get thousands of readers. Why is that?

A friend who is a seasoned SEO expert told me recently these people have enterprise-level tools that are not available to everyone and thus have a competitive edge. I noticed that they used enterprise-level tools such as Rank Math Pro for some time, and I had told my readers in my previous post. Through my recent research, I found out more on Rank Math  as follows:

The above is only part of the complete list of features. There are much more. I am convinced why there is a big difference between general user SEO and SEO.  I would like to know what is your thing.

 P.S.

I gave this blog a new name.

NICHE AFFILIATE CASH.

MAKE MONEY WITH AFFILIATE PROGRAMS

marketing commercial and digital products online.

I think the new blog title is more compelling than the previous name.  What do you think? Do you like it?

Affiliate marketing startup with Google Blogger = Increase Blog Traffic

Introduction

Write more and post your article consistently.  It is best to do 1 post daily, or even one post weekly. The key is consistency and the article content. Stick with a lot of information and nicely presented do matter in gaining the attention of the search engines. e.g., Google, Bing, Youtube, Yahoo.  Studies show that the more often you update your blog, the more traffic it will receive.  Posts too short or duplication are not welcome at all.  If you want attention from these big players, your article must be rich in content and long size.

Write Better Titles Utilizing SEO Keywords Tools

Blog titles and post titles are signboards of your blog and posts. Readers' first attention is of utmost importance.
Their stay and leave are at this very moment.
The same applies to search engines.
Therefore, we first pay attention to keyword research
for the blog title and post titles
then we proceed to the actual writing of
these titles and content.
This act is a sure win in the long run.
It provides both Google search keywords and
Youtube search keywords, but separately.
 I am thrilled with it.

Focus on Your Niche

The word niche is nowadays used in the marketing arena.  It means a small subset of the prominent market that is unique and small but with many potentials.  The market niche defines the product features to satisfy specific market needs, price range, product quality, and demographics.  It is highly specialized, aiming to survive among the competition from the big companies.

As regards my niche, it goes with my passion for an online business.  Hence, I am working on my computer, communicating with friends with a similar passion.  Socializing with people in the internet world while selling affiliate products online to prospective clients.  I am inclined to sell digital products and educational programs partly due to my passion. The other reason is they are recurring passive income.

Add Keywords to the Blog (Google Blogger)

Now we are at the Blogger dashboard, do the following:

  • scroll down the left sidebar menu to 'Setting',
  • then scroll to privacy. ..enable visible to Search engines, and allow the search engines to crawl on the blog
  • then scroll down to Meta tags add the blog title
  • add blog description up to 150 characters, click save
  • continue scroll to Crawlers and indexing enable custom robots.txt to enable custom robots.txt to enable custom robots header tags
  • then go to the posts - the page with thumbnails add short description
  • scroll down to find the search description and fill in the search description, with keywords -150 characters then click update
  • go back to the blogger dashboard left sidebar menu scroll to 'Setting' ...
  • at Google search console add  your URL to Google search console

Now it is done.

There is another way to add keywords to your blog as follows:

At the left side is a sidebar; scroll down to 'Theme.'

  • Click at customizing, then choose HTML edit.
  • Then Insert under the "head" tag to define your keywords. In the "content" attribute, type your keywords between the quotation marks and separate them with space.

Add Videos or Photos

In today's marketing, videos are better than photos, and photos are better than words.  So, go video, video, and video. That is the trend. Visit me on Youtube.

Add Links to Your Post

Add links to your post, such as your favorite link that is inspiring to you, and you like to share it with your readers, or a link to your affiliate program/product introducing it to people following your blog.  I would suggest linking with influential sites such as Linkedin, Quora, Digg, etc.

Add Social Sharing Buttons.

Google Blogger has plenty of gadgets that I like. one of them is the social sharing buttons situated at the foot of every post you make.  The position can be shared via Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, Email, and Pinterest with a click of the mouse.  If you need one, here is an excellent tool for free social sharing buttons, Addthis.

My Reminder to the Readers

Make sure that your blog is mobile responsive, for it may adversely affect the traffic to the blog due to the following issues.

  • The text is too small to read
  • Clickable  elements too close together
  • Viewport not set to device-width
  • Use incompatible plug-in
Smartphone users are much more than desktop users, and the trend is growing.  You would agree that we cannot afford to lose these potential customers.

Google Blogger for Beginners Expressing Ideas

 Introduction

Google acquired Blogspot in 2003.  I was excited by this news. It provided a free publishing platform under Blogger.com while BlogSpot is a free domain service provider. They are owned by Google and are used together on the Blogger platform servicing in 60 languages in different countries.  I have been a big fan of Google Blogger using it for my blogging since 2004.  Google Blogger is 100% free, and it works amazingly well. All you need is a Google account to get started.

Sign up and Sign in

Go to the Blogger website and then sign up with your Google account. After that, click the 'Create New Blog' button. You will be guided step by step to choose your display name, check the availability, then create your unique URL. Your blog URL will be 'https://yourdisplayname.blogspot.com' If you choose your own domain, it is upon availability and at a fee. Then your URL will be 'https://www.yourdomain.com.'  Both of them are under 'setting,' 'publishing,' 'blog address,' 'domain.'  Just follow the instruction,  you then create a blog title, blog post title, Check out the left sidebar and scroll down slowly to set up the basics.

Once you've done that, your blog will be set up and automatically hosted by Google.  Hosting is free too.  Next, you can fine-tune your blog settings, choose and edit your blog theme and layout, add posts creating content with text and videos right away.  It is user-friendly and straightforward.

Template Options:

There are plenty of design templates called free Themes. They are simple to download and easy to install with just the click of the mouse.

  • Free Temples Contempo, Soho, Emporio, Notable, Essential, Simple, Dynamic Views, Pictures, Awesome Inc, Watermark, Ethereal, Travel with layouts to suit different purposes.

We could customize the layout to adapt it to your purposes if we are familiar with web design.  It is user-friendly too.

  • Flexibility to Customize the template

  •  Plenty of gadgets(plugins) such as Google Adsense, header, footer, popular posts, featured post, about, label, HTML, CSS, edit, videos and image add-on, etc.
  • Images and videos can be imported directly from Youtube and your computer at the click of the mouse.
  • Posting to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, emails is easy and fun at the click of the mouse too.

Tips for Design

1. Match Design Elements to our Subject Matter

The layout of our blog's theme should also fit our subject to our choice of colors, fonts, and other individual elements. Don't be misled by graphical gimmicks. Think carefully about how our layout will suit the content.

2. Keep It Simple

Our selected layout template should have no technical defects code. Loading times are critical. This is increasingly important for search engines and users, who will leave a site quickly if these are too long. A simple layout is likely to load quicker.

3. The Usability

In addition to visual design elements, usability plays a vital role in blog design. In general, we should keep it simple and straightforward.  Another point to watch out for is the expandability of the blog for future growth.  If our blog's purpose is to earn money, then make sure that none of the layout's elements get in the way of this goal, ensuring our sidebar is wide enough to integrate banners; leave enough space for a flag in the header.

In addition, the content area should be clearly and readily visible, not only better for the user but also allowing for a better presentation of Affiliate Links and other monetized content.

Ask ourself

Is the navigation on the blog user-friendly?

How easy is it to find important content?

Are there too many or too few choices?

Are there any confusing elements?

Conclusion

In a nutshell, the Blogger platform is better than WordPress when you create a blog for no other reason than expressing your ideas. If you are happy with the features offered by the Blogger platform, then this is a great choice.

Google Sitemap.xml for Blogger

What is a sitemap?

A sitemap is a blueprint of your site that helps search engines find, crawl and index your site content. Sitemaps also tell search engines which pages on your site are most important. In short, it is a way of mapping out the structure and organization of carriers and content in your area. It is a file with a list of all website pages similar to a book's table of contents, except the sections are links. It tells Google which pages and files you think are essential in your site and provides valuable information about these files, e.g., when the page was last updated and any alternate language versions.

The sitemap is of great SEO value. The most crucial sitemap optimization guideline is: Include the pages that are important for your site in your sitemap. These are the pages that have high-quality content and are more likely to bring organic traffic to your website.

WHY IS A sitemap Important?

A sitemap lists a website's most important pages, thus, making sure search engines can find and crawl them. Sitemaps also help understand your website structure making it easier to navigate your website. It makes it easier for search engines to see all the content you want to discover and rank on your website. Sitemaps benefit both search engines and end-users.

How to submit a sitemap in Google Search Console

Find your sitemap page on your live site. ...

Navigate to "Sitemaps" under "Index" on the left side navigation pane.

Remove old, outdated sitemaps, if any.

Under "Add a new sitemap," you can add your sitemap URL and click submit.

How do I find a sitemap on Google?

The sitemap.xml file is typically located in the root directory of your domain  (ex: https://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml).

Try typing in your domain name e.g., https://yourdomain.com with the following endings

/sitemap

/sitemap.xml

/sitemap_index.xml

You would find something similar to the following:

My Final Thoughts

SEO has significant benefits for blogs and sites. It is a form of attraction marketing that broadens our brand's reach through targeting long-tailed keywords. Brands that invest in SEO can build credibility and trust with the audience leading to long-term exponential growth. SEO tools are an essential consideration to help optimize a blog/site for search engines. Content marketing alongside other exciting social media is the trend.

My blogging corner

Yesterday after breakfast, Julie and I went out for a morning walk.  Then we did some gardening work in the backyard.  It is almost a daily routine during the  Covid19 pandemic.  It is a perfect way to keep fit both physically and mentally.

I worked in the computer room, which is my blogging corner. I resumed working on the blog "Grandpa," fine-tuning the layout making it neat and straightforward.  I also put on the AddThis share button there so that the readers can share with friends. One important point worth mentioning here is the blog loading time. Slow and long loading time is unaccepted by all visitors and readers.  Google Blogger.com is pretty good at providing efficient uploading time.

This blogging corner is where I do my daily blogging.  With today's smartphones, blogging is great fun.   I can simply be blogging anywhere.  I can do it at the cafe and shopping mall where wi-fi is available.  Of course, you can do it while traveling out of the country.  It is cool.

I will come back with more details on mobile blogging later.  See you and have a great day.

My Reasons for Building a Blog

This is the Day 11 post on this blog.   The time now is 6:16 am in the morning of Toronto.   I  still do blogging even though I have Facebook and Instagram.  Why go to all the trouble of building a blog, creating content, and driving traffic? The following would answer your question why.

  • The Writing Desire

Writing is my passion.  I like it, but composing blog entries regularly is not easy.  It needs discipline yet allows me to exercise more and improve my writing skill. This does not only make writing more accessible, but it will also be of use in the daily world outside our blog. Moreover, writing a blog means building an extensive archive of articles that can later become the source of making my own ebook.

  • For the Fun of the Process

Like most bloggers, fun is the foremost reason for starting a blog.  Unlike Facebook and Instagram, there are choices and freedom in the blog format where advertisements such as banners, in-line ads promotion are allowed.  Writing about a topic close to our hearts is satisfaction and joy.  Cooperation with other people and promoting our cases, building and expanding our blog can also be a lot of fun. A blog will definitely require hard work.  The journey is not easy, but it can prove to be rewarding.

  • Desire For Knowledge

We all learn by doing.  Through blogging, we know new pieces of knowledge all the way. It will involve new things, such as photography, video editing, advertising, Html, and CSS. A pleasant learning journey that brings in a lot of know-how. Blogging also allows us to better understand self-organization, content creation, community management, marketing, and many other subjects. Moreover, as we do the research and the blogging process of writing topics, it will increase our level of expertise in the matter, which can be helpful both online and offline.

  • Networking with People

We network with other people through blogging and then build our own community, a community of friends of similar likings and interests. Exchange with our readers and other bloggers will serve as a source of motivation and grow our knowledge and create new ideas.

  • Desire To Make Extra Income for Quality Life

I retired already living on the pension.  To support a quality life, I need to make extra income. I know bloggers nowadays make a good side income. Some can even live exclusively by blogging.   I know that there is no highway to success.  It needs perseverance and knowledge on the road to success. Our blog can be a hub for contact with potential clients and customers. They may support us by buying products from our blogs or even offering us some new business projects with them.

Good content will always be necessary. If we manage to build ourselves a high-quality blog worth reading, we are guaranteed to attract a large and interested readership. Start today, and see you in the marketplace. Join and Sign up as Clickbank Affiliate.  It is free
