How do I set up an ads.txt file for Blogger?

Source: Google.com

This morning I was informed by Google that my Blogger blog 'Affiliate marketing startup - David Au' is now ready to serve ads on AdSense. As I checked into my Adsense account.  I was advised that I need to fix an issue and that is I have to add my Adsense published ID to the ad.txt file in order to avoid earnings at risk – "You need to fix some ads.txt files issues to avoid severe impact to your revenue".
Therefore I checked Youtube and Google Help for the solution to fix the problem.  I set up an ads.txt file and now it is fixed I documented the related video and text information here sharing it with my readers and friends.  Trust you guys would find it helpful and like it.

Set up an ads.txt file guide from Google

Authorised Digital Sellers, or ads.txt is an IAB Tech Lab initiative that helps ensure that your digital ad inventory is only sold through sellers (such as AdSense) who you've identified as authorised. Creating your own ads.txt file gives you more control over who's allowed to sell ads on your site and helps prevent counterfeit inventory from being presented to advertisers.

We strongly recommend that you use an ads.txt file. It can help buyers identify counterfeit inventory and help you receive more advertiser spend that might have otherwise gone towards that counterfeit inventory.

Fix ads.txt issues in AdSense

If there's an issue with ads.txt on your site, you'll see an alert in your AdSense account. To prevent a severe impact on your revenue, follow the relevant steps below to fix the issue.

Note: It may take a few days for your changes to be reflected in AdSense. If your site doesn't make many ad requests it may take up to a month.

Create an ads.txt file for your site

AdSense provides a personalized ads.txt file that you can download from your account. The personalized ads.txt file includes your publisher ID. Your publisher ID must be included and formatted correctly for your ads.txt file to be verified.

  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. If there's an alert on your homepage, click Fix now. Otherwise, click Sites.
  3. Click the Down arrow Down arrow to open the 'Create an ads.txt file for...' message.
  4. Click Download. Your ads.txt file is automatically downloaded.
  5. (Optional) If you’re using another ad network, remember to add that network to your ads.txt file. Contact your ad network for their ads.txt information.
  6. Upload your ads.txt file to the root directory of your site. The root directory of a site in the directory or folder following the top-level domain (example.com/ads.txt).

To verify that you published your file correctly, check that you successfully see your file's content when you access the ads.txt URL (https://example.com/ads.txt) in your web browser. If you can see the file in your web browser, it's likely that AdSense will successfully find it.

Add your publisher ID to an ads.txt file

If your publisher ID is missing from your ads.txt file, you can copy it from your account and add it to your ads.txt file.

  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. If there's an alert on your homepage, click Fix Now. Otherwise, click Sites.
  3. Click the Down arrow Down arrowto open the 'Add your publisher ID to these ads.txt files' message.
  4. Click Copy.
  5. Paste the line into each of your ads.txt files.

Your ads.txt file should now look like this, where pub-0000000000000000 is your own publisher ID:

    google.com, pub-0000000000000000, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Note: Your ads.txt file must be formatted as specified by the IAB Tech Lab in order to be verified. If you need additional help, review the ads.txt specification.

Tips for Design

The layout of our blog's theme should also fit your subject to your choice of colors, fonts, and other individual elements. Don't be misled by graphical gimmicks. Think carefully about how your layout will suit the content.

2. Keep It Simple

Your selected layout template should have no technical defects code. Loading times are critical. This is increasingly important for search engines and users, who will quickly leave a site if these are too long. A simple layout is likely to load quicker.

3. The Usability

In addition to visual design elements, usability plays a vital role in blog design. In general, you should keep it simple and straightforward. Another point to watch out for is the expandability of the blog for future growth. If your blog's purpose is to earn money, then make sure that none of the layout's elements get in the way of this goal, ensuring our sidebar is wide enough to integrate banners; leave enough space for a flag in the header.

In addition, the content area should be clearly and readily visible, not only better for the user but also allowing for a better presentation of Affiliate Links and other monetized content.

Ask ourself

  • Is the navigation on the blog user-friendly?
  • How easy is it to find important content?
  • Are there too many or too few choices?
  • Are there any confusing elements?

What is AdSense and How It Works?

Adsense is a Google affiliate program. AdSense provides a way for publishers (you) to earn money from their online content. AdSense works by matching ads to your site based on your content and visitors. The ads are created and paid for by advertisers who want to promote their products. Since these advertisers pay different prices for different ads, your amount will vary.

Google Adsense is built-in at Blogger.

  • You must meet Adsense eligibility requirements.
  • Have your own unique and exciting content, high-quality, original, and attract an audience.
  • Comply with the AdSense Program Policies. You are at least 18 years old.

Sign in to your Google Account.

  • Select your payment country
  • Review and accept the AdSense Terms and Conditions.
  • Click Start using AdSense.

Sign in to Google Blogger.

  • In the top left, select a blog.
  • From the menu on the left, click Earnings. Create AdSense account
  • Select the Google email associated with your Blogger account.
  • Fill out the AdSense form and click Create an account.
  • Enter your payment details and verify your phone number.
  • Click Submit.

AdSense pay per 1000 clicks

If you earned an estimated $180 from 45,000 ad impressions, your ad RPM would equal ($180 / 45,000) * 1000, or $4.00. AdSense doesn't pay based on views of an ad. Instead, they use a cost-per-click (CPC) payment system. Whenever your audience clicks on one of Google AdSense's targeted ads, you receive a portion of the payment.

The two main ways bloggers get paid through ad networks are per impression or click. Paid per impression with these ads, the viewer does not have to click on the advertisement for the Blogger to receive an income. ... "advertisers pay website owners based on how many people have seen their ads.

How much money does AdSense pay?

Publishers get 68% of the click amount (or 51% for AdSense for search). The commission you get depends heavily on the competition and CPC in the niche. In practice, the commission per click can range from $0.20 to $15. The majority of places bring less than $3 per click to publishers.

Top Ways to Increase AdSense income

  • Get Quality Traffic. ...
  • Do Your Research. ...
  • The Entire Domain Counts. ...
  • Balance Ad Blocks Numbers with Content-Length. ...
  • Analyze Your Ad Placement. ...
  • Use AdSense Channels to Increase AdSense CPC. ...
  • Text, Image, and Video AdSense Adverts. ...

Conclusion

Google Adsense is one of the most used methods for making money online. It's simple to use. Google does most of the work for you. The success key is to blend Adsense ads into your site and content to look natural. Writing skill and practical style matter; of course, it is communication. This is how you grab the audience's attention and put Google's ad targeting to work. The following key is understanding your audience and the end call to action. Google Adsense likely isn't a good fit if you have a blog for high-value CPA offers. In a nutshell, the Blogger platform is better than WordPress when you create a blog for no other reason than expressing your ideas and making some extra income through affiliate programs monetization. I am happy with the features offered by the Blogger. I think it is a great choice for beginners with a low budget.  Over time as you acquire enough know-how in your affiliate journey you can switch to WordPress which over more flexibility and expandability in terms of plugins and SEO friendliness.

Step 4. Click on the +Add Authors; after clicking on +Add Authors, you will see a box where you need to enter the email address for inviting authors; you can add multiple email addresses too.

So enter the new email address you want to change your blogger login email to; it will send an author to invite to the same email address.

Click on Invite Authors to send invitations.

Step 5. Now go check your new email address’s inbox; you indeed received an author invitation from Blogger.

Step 6. You need to click on the Accept Invitation button in the email. It will redirect you to Blogger, where you again need to click on the Accept Invitation button.

Step 7. When you click on the Accept Invitation button again on Blogger, this will redirect you to your blogger blog as the new Author, but you don’t have admin access to the new account.

Step 8. To assign a new Author as admin, you need to login to Blogger using your old email address and go to Blogger Dashboard>Settings>Basics, then scroll down to the Permission.

But this there, you will be seeing there are two authors added…

You need to make admin to the new Author you need with your new email address.

Step 9. After assigning a new Author as admin, you can delete the old Author with the old email address you want to remove.

Step 10. Now you can log in using a new email address to your Blogger.
