When I first started exploring artificial intelligence, I was simply curious. I wanted to know what AI could do and whether it could make life a little easier.
Today, after many months of learning and experimenting, I can honestly say that AI has benefited me in more ways than I expected.
It has helped me write blog posts, organize my thoughts, translate between English and Chinese, generate creative ideas, and learn new technologies that once seemed beyond my reach. As a retiree, AI has also given me a new hobby and a renewed sense of curiosity. Every day feels like an opportunity to discover something new.
That does not mean AI is without problems.
Like many people, I worry about job displacement. As AI becomes more capable, some jobs will change dramatically, and others may disappear altogether. Society will need to help workers adapt through education, retraining, and new opportunities. These are real challenges that cannot be ignored.
At the same time, history shows that every major technological revolution has brought both disruption and progress. The internet, smartphones, and cloud computing all changed the way we live and work. AI is likely to do the same—perhaps on an even larger scale.
Whether we like it or not, AI is moving forward. Governments, businesses, schools, and individuals around the world are investing in it. The question is no longer whether AI will become part of our lives, but how we choose to use it.
My own decision is to keep learning.
I do not expect to become an AI expert. Instead, I hope to remain curious, open-minded, and willing to adapt. If AI can help me become a better writer, a more informed learner, and a more connected grandfather, then it has already made a positive difference in my life.
AI is not perfect.
Neither are we.
But together, we may create a future that is smarter, more productive, and more meaningful—provided we use this technology wisely and responsibly.
The AI journey has only just begun, and I look forward to continuing the adventure.
