After learning how to ask better questions yesterday, today I began to see something more practical:
AI is not just for curiosity—it can actually help in my daily life.
This morning, I received a message from a ping pong friend.
He had been away for months. We later found out he had been seriously ill with pneumonia and stayed in the hospital for a long time.
I wanted to send him a message—something warm and encouraging.
But I hesitated.
Sometimes, it is not easy to find the right words.
So I asked ChatGPT to help.
I wrote a simple request:
“Help me write a supportive message to a friend recovering from a serious illness.”
Within seconds, I received a thoughtful and caring message.
I read it, adjusted a few words to make it more personal, and sent it to my friend.
It felt right.
Another Small but Useful Moment
Later, I needed to translate a piece of writing into Chinese for a friend who reads Chinese better.
Again, I turned to ChatGPT.
What surprised me was not just the speed—but the clarity and natural flow of the translation.
This saved me time and gave me confidence that my message was well understood.
What I Realized Today
AI is not here to replace us.
It is here to support us.
- When I don’t know how to express something → it helps me find the words
- When I need translation → it bridges the language gap
- When I feel unsure → it gives me a starting point
But one thing is important:
The final message should still come from the heart.
I always review and adjust before sending.
A New Habit Begins
Today, I started to treat AI as a daily helper—
like a quiet assistant, always ready when I need support.
At my age, learning new technology can feel challenging.
But when I see how useful it is in real situations, I feel encouraged to continue.
Looking Ahead
Tomorrow, I want to try using AI to improve my English—
from writing, to reading, and maybe even speaking.
Step by step, I am not just learning AI.
I am learning how to use it to make life a little easier—and a little better.
I reviewed the following message, made a few small changes, and sent it from my heart.
Mary, we were so glad to hear from you. We’ve missed you both.
It must have been a very difficult time, but we are truly happy that John is recovering.
Please take your time and focus on getting stronger day by day.
No rush at all—health comes first.
When you feel ready, we would love to see you both.
Wishing John a steady recovery and continued strength. God bless.
David
