有時我讓 ChatGPT 幫我寫旅行故事;
有時我問它健康飲食的小建議;
🧠 AI Learning for Seniors – Week 25: How AI Helped Me Overcome the Fear of New Technology
At different stages of life, we all face change.
When we were young, change was exciting. As we get older, change can feel intimidating — especially when it comes to new technology like AI.
💭 My Initial Hesitation
When I first heard about AI, I worried that:
-
It might be too complicated to use
-
My English wasn’t good enough
-
I might press the wrong button and mess things up
-
Or maybe AI was something meant only for young people
But later I realized that fear comes mostly from unfamiliarity.
It’s just like the first time we learned to use a smartphone, joined a Zoom meeting, or booked a flight online — once we take the first step, it’s not that hard after all.
🌱 The Key to Overcoming Fear: Start by “Playing”
Instead of treating AI as something I must “learn,” I began by playing with it.
Sometimes I asked ChatGPT to help me write a travel story.
Sometimes I asked for health or diet tips.
Sometimes I simply chatted or practiced English.
The more I used it, the more I found AI to be patient, creative, and encouraging.
Gradually, my fear of making mistakes faded away.
I realized — AI doesn’t laugh at me, nor does it get tired of my questions.
💡 The Power of a New Mindset
Through this journey, I learned an important lesson:
“Age doesn’t stop us from learning — the wrong mindset does.”
I stopped forcing myself to “understand the technology,”
and started enjoying the process of discovery and conversation.
That curiosity and sense of accomplishment made me feel like a student again.
🌻 This Week’s Reflection
When facing new technology, the hardest part isn’t the tool — it’s our mental barrier.
Once we open that door, we find a world full of inspiration and joy waiting outside.
AI isn’t here to replace us — it’s here to grow with us.
