From Thousands of Affiliate Products to a Few I Can Actually Recommend

My Affiliate Journey Continues

When I first joined ShareASale several years ago, I never imagined that one day I would be looking at thousands of products and asking myself:

“Which ones are actually worth my time?”

ShareASale has now become part of Awin, one of the major affiliate marketing platforms. When I logged in and started looking around, I discovered an enormous marketplace of products and companies.

There are products in almost every category imaginable.

But my interest is much narrower.

I am particularly interested in AI products—especially AI video creation, AI writing, and AI productivity tools.

And that is where my problem begins.

There are simply too many choices.

I Don't Want to Join Everything

I could spend days clicking the “Join Program” button.

AI writing tools.

AI video makers.

AI presentation software.

AI productivity platforms.

AI marketing tools.

AI voice and audio tools.

And the list goes on.

But I don't think joining hundreds of affiliate programs is a good strategy for me.

After all, I am not trying to build a giant affiliate website filled with hundreds of random products.

I want to build AI123.ca around my own experience with artificial intelligence.

That means I would rather find a smaller number of AI products that I understand, use, and can honestly talk about.

This is where my AI assistant—ChatGPT—comes in.

I Asked ChatGPT to Help Me Choose

Instead of looking at thousands of programs by myself, I decided to ask ChatGPT for help.

I explained what I am trying to accomplish with AI123.ca.

I told ChatGPT that I am particularly interested in:

  • AI video creation

  • AI writing

  • AI productivity

  • AI tools that ordinary people can actually use

  • Products that fit naturally with the content of my blog

Then I asked it to help me evaluate the programs before I joined them.

This doesn't mean I simply tell ChatGPT, “Pick something for me.”

The final decision is still mine.

I want to understand what the product does, who it is for, whether it fits my readers, and whether I can write about it from my own perspective.

That distinction is important.

AI can help me investigate. It doesn't replace my judgment.

One Program Is Already Approved

So far, I have successfully joined AV Access.

That was encouraging.

It means the process is beginning to work.

I am also waiting to hear about some other AI-related programs.

For example, Pictory is still pending, and WriteSonic is another program I am interested in exploring.

I am not going to pretend that every application will be accepted.

Some companies may approve me.

Some may decline me.

Some may take time to respond.

That's part of the process.

And honestly, I am learning as I go.

Why Pictory Interests Me

Pictory is particularly interesting to me because I have been experimenting with video creation myself.

I have created many YouTube videos, and I know from experience that traditional video editing can take time.

If an AI tool can help turn written content into video, create scenes, add captions, or simplify the editing process, that is something I want to understand better.

But before I recommend it to my readers, I want to know more than just its affiliate commission.

I want to know:

Does it actually help?

That is a much more important question.

AI Writing Is Another Area I Am Watching

The same thing applies to AI writing tools such as WriteSonic.

There are many AI writing platforms available today.

Some are excellent.

Some may be useful for certain people but unnecessary for others.

And some may simply not be right for my audience.

I don't want AI123.ca to become a collection of affiliate links.

I want it to become a place where I can say:

“I tried this. Here is what I discovered.”

That is much more valuable.

I Am 80, and I Am Still Learning

There is another reason I find this whole affiliate journey interesting.

I am an 80-year-old grandfather.

I am not a technology company.

I am not an AI engineer.

I am simply someone who became fascinated by artificial intelligence and decided to keep learning.

Sometimes I understand a new AI tool quickly.

Sometimes I don't.

Sometimes I have to ask ChatGPT the same question twice.

And sometimes I make mistakes.

But perhaps that is exactly what makes this journey interesting.

There are probably many people reading AI123.ca who are also wondering:

“Can someone like me really use these AI tools?”

My answer is becoming clearer every day:

Yes—but you don't have to learn everything at once.

Affiliate Marketing Is New Territory for Me

I also want to be candid about something else.

Affiliate marketing is still relatively new territory for me.

I have joined affiliate networks before, including ShareASale, and now I am learning how Awin works.

I am also exploring programs individually.

There is a learning curve.

I have to understand approval processes, affiliate links, commissions, program rules, tracking, and—most importantly—how to recommend products responsibly.

I don't want to recommend a product simply because it pays a commission.

If I don't believe a product is useful, I would rather not recommend it.

My New Strategy

So my strategy is becoming quite simple.

Instead of asking:

“How many affiliate programs can I join?”

I am asking:

“Which AI products genuinely fit AI123.ca?”

That is a completely different question.

I am looking for products in areas such as:

AI Video → AI Writing → AI Productivity → AI Marketing → Other Useful AI Tools

Then I will investigate them one at a time.

I will ask ChatGPT to help me compare them.

I will read the program information.

I will look at the product itself.

And whenever possible, I want to actually use the product.

Only then can I tell my readers what I think.

ChatGPT Is My Research Partner

This is probably the most interesting part of my affiliate journey.

I am not using ChatGPT simply to write advertisements.

I am using it as a research partner.

I can say:

“Here are five AI affiliate programs. Which ones appear to fit the direction of AI123.ca?”

Then we can discuss them.

We can compare their products.

We can consider their audience.

We can look at whether they fit my existing articles.

And finally, I make the decision.

For me, this is a much better way to approach affiliate marketing.

There Is No Need to Rush

I am learning that affiliate marketing is not a race.

I don't need 500 affiliate programs.

I don't even need 100.

If I eventually find 10 or 20 AI products that I genuinely understand and can recommend honestly, that may be much more valuable.

The goal isn't to have the longest list.

The goal is to have the right list.

And I think that is an important lesson for anyone beginning affiliate marketing.

My AI123.ca Affiliate Experiment Has Begun

So, this is where I am today.

I have successfully joined AV Access.

Pictory is pending.

WriteSonic is on my radar.

And there are many more AI programs waiting for me to investigate.

I am going to take my time.

I will use ChatGPT to help me research and compare them, but I will make the final decisions myself.

And I will share the journey here on AI123.ca.

I don't know yet which programs will become long-term partners.

I don't know how much affiliate income this experiment will eventually generate.

But I do know one thing:

I am having fun learning.

At 80, I am still discovering new technology, experimenting with new ideas, and finding new ways to build something.

Maybe that is the real adventure.

The affiliate links may eventually generate some income.

But the learning journey itself is already worth something.

And I am just getting started.

找到几十个真正值得研究的;
