Introduction

Further to yesterday's post on Amazon Associate questions and answers,  the subject for today is bloggers' best practices. There are no fixed rules for blogging, of course, but there are best practices, which experienced bloggers have collected over the years, and they can be beneficial for beginners.

What are the requirements for Amazon associates?

12 Key Amazon Affiliate Requirements

  • Let Your Readers Know You're an Associate
  • Do Not Use Link Shorteners to Hide Links
  • Do Not Put Links in PDFs, eBooks, Emails, or Private Groups
  • Do Not Solicit Clicks on Links
  • You Cannot Purchase From Your Link
  • Have a Comprehensive Privacy Policy
  • Learn How To Use Amazon Brand Correctly
  • Understand Amazon Product Image Guidelines
  • Understand Pricing Display Guidelines
  • You've Got 6 Months to Make Your First Sale
  • Do Not Promote Products Offensive to Children
  • No Cookie Manipulation..

Things we should watch out

Your social network account or group meets our program requirements as it must be established with a substantive number of followers/subscribers in several hundred.

Amazon does not allow the unapproved use of URLs, trademarks, logos, amazon web views, etc., that include words trademarked by Amazon, which violates Amazon Trademark Guidelines.

Final Thought

Identifying yourself as an Amazon Associate is essential.

  • I identify as an Amazon Associate
  • Always do this on social media
  • Clear. A clear disclosure could be as simple as "(paid link)", "#ad", or "#CommissionsEarned".
  • Conspicuous. It should be placed near any affiliate link or product review in a location that customers will notice quickly.
