Affiliate marketing for beginners - 5 critcal success factors for any site

Introduction

Your blog or website is the window that connects with the customers. Good sites would bring in many customers while the bad ones remain idle with little or no sale. What are the factors which affect the end outcome so much? There are 5 factors, and I call them 5 essential elements of the success of any online business.

Table of content

  • 5 critical success factors
  • Content
  • Design layout
  • Speed
  • Expandability
  • Monetization
  • Conclusion

5 Critical Success Factors:

- Content

Content is the king because it is the most important in the long run. Let us bring ourselves into customers' shoes while searching the internet for the information they look for. They want to solve some kind of problem. They want a solution. They need something that can resolve the immediate issue or need. When they stumble upon your site, they look for that particular substance, a solution that can help them. When they find it, they are pleased and will come again for the next visit.

On the other hand, if they found nothing on your site, they are very disappointed and may never return. Sales are made only when people revisit our sites and make a purchase decision. It is simple, yet most people overlook this critical point.

In short, content needs to be relevant, honest, and up to date. Top qualities for a blog or site:

  • Passion —Have power when you find a recipe for your blog.
  • Reading — Need to be updated the topic you write.
  • Communication — Need to be a good communicator.
  • Patience — Need to be patient.
  • Consistency — Need to update your blog regularly.

- Design layout

Over the years, I noticed that visitors may stay or leave in a matter of seconds. A suitable layout is just as important as written content which only plays a subordinate role in the first impression. Here the structure and design have a powerful impact. It is an essential factor in deciding whether a reader stays on returning to our blogs. A well-designed blog with ease of navigation in search of information would encourage visitors to stay longer on the site. Good design and rich content inspire trust in our visitors, and we can use them to establish our brand and increase sales. I have an article related to this particular subject in another post.

Blogger has many themes for different subjects, e.g., Travel, Magazine, Food, Simple, Awesome, etc.   I use 'Travel Theme' for its simplicity.   At the top, my blog title and then the blog description comprised of keywords related to the blog title. It is removed to the top of the right sidebar from its original location under the blog title to light up the header area. The keywords in the blog description will be used for future posts over time. With this arrangement, keywords in future posts will naturally align with the main blog title. Our eyes browse from top downwards and from left to right. The search engine spiders are so intelligent, and they similarly browse our blog. Organic traffic, which builds up over time, will last, unlike social medial traffic that comes and go just like the wind. By the way, remember to scatter essential keywords on the content page. It is a good practice for sustained organic traffic.

- Speed

Loading times are critical. This is increasingly important for search engines and users, who will leave a site quickly if these are too long. A simple layout is likely to load quicker. Don't load too many posts, pictures, and videos as they substantially drag down the site speed.

- Expandability

In addition to visual design elements, usability plays a vital role in blog design. In general, we should keep it simple and straightforward. Another point to watch out for is the expandability of the blog for future growth. If our blog's purpose is to earn money, then make sure that none of the layout's elements get in the way of this goal, ensuring our sidebar is wide enough to integrate banners; leave enough space for a flag in the header. In addition, the content area should be clearly and readily visible, not only better for the user but also allow for a better presentation of Affiliate Links and other monetized content.

- Monetization

Affiliate marketing is the most popular monetization way to make money with your blogs. This business model makes income by selling products and service programs from merchants that provide the products and commission to affiliates upon your successful deals. It is similar to a front store making a profit by selling products from the merchants.

Google Adsense earns money from website monetization. It is one of the most used monetization methods for making money online. It's simple to use. Google does most of the work for you. The success key is to blend Adsense ads into your blog/site and content to look natural. Writing skill and suitable style does matter.   It is communication. This is how you grab the audience's attention and put Google's ad targeting to work.

Ask ourselves a few common-sense questions:

  • Is the navigation on the blog user-friendly?
  • How easy is it to find important content?
  • Are there too many or too few choices?
  • Are there any confusing elements?

Conclusion

Remember that the layout we choose doesn't need to be perfect. It's preferable to get started with a simple form and gradually optimize the blog design. Don't waste valuable time tinkering with minor layout details when our blog could already be online.
